We learned about this place in our Road Food Book. Once again it did not disappoint. It is a very small place and don't let the outside looks of it scare you away. The staff was very friendly, helpful and prompt. Our food was really good. We will eat here again if we are ever in the area

Definitely a hidden gem in Lake Village. I always look for soul food spots wherever I go, and was so surprised to find one here. Thanks Google . The spot has been there for about 40 years, and still kicking. It was like going to your grandma’s kitchen. We were greeted by 2 Nice ladies in the front. They have more than hot tamales, and this was my first time having those. There’s a small buffet set up for the lunch options. And they have a menu for you to order other items. I wish they stayed open past 2. Prices are very reasonable. And yes I put hot sauce on everything.

Super cool and unique place in the middle of nowhere. Dolores (Rhoda’s daughter) delivers delta tamales, fried catfish and fried hand pies with a smile. She made us feel welcome and it was a huge improvement over the fast food experience that is the usual option in road trips through middle America. We plan to stop on all future trips through that area.

Can't really review because after driving three hours to check them out, they're closed for two weeks. Major bummer but I guess everyone needs a vacation. Just posting this to save everyone a trip

I was next door getting my truck loaded and they are right next door to where I was and I seen they had tamales, and I LOVE ME SOME TAMALES! But when I went in, I saw the hamburger steak on lunch special and HAD TO HAVE IT! And I am SO GLAD I DID! Their food is SO YUMILICIOUS!!! I will DEFINITELY be back if I ever come through here again. P.S. Bring cash. I had to walk up the street a little ways to get to an ATM, but the food was worth the walk And I needed the exercise anyhow

We came across Rhoda’s on Google Maps last year on our beach trip. At the time we were passing through on a Sunday and they were closed. We’ve been waiting all year for family vacation so we could try Rhoda’s. I knew it was going to be good as soon as I walked in. “C’mon in Honey,” Momma Rhoda said, smiling up at us from her table. Her husband sat at a table nearby. Her son (son-in-law?) was at the counter, and her daughter in the kitchen. “We heard you have really good tamales,” I said. “We do. We have lots of good food,” Rhoda said waving us in. “C’mon in.” I sat down and talked with Rhoda while my wife ordered the famous tamales and pecan pie from her daughter at the counter. ”Started cooking out of my kitchen and selling tamales, pies, and drinks. We bought this place in 85. How many years is that?” “About 34 years,” I said to her. “Yeah, we’ve been here since 85. Been doing this a while. People from all over stop by....You come back now.” Love feeling like we’re part of Momma Rhoda’s family and welcome to drop by anytime. The homemade tamales and pie were delicious. Looking forward to trying something new next time. Good prices.

This was such a great find in Lake Village. Just a few blocks off the main drag and worth the short detour. Ms Rhoda cooks a mean meal. We had the smothered chicken with rice, steamed cabbage and the beans. Wow! Then we had the fried catfish... WOW! It’s a simple place with just a few tables inside. We also had the tamales and the pecan pie. Don’t be dissuaded by the looks of the place when you drive up. It’s amazing. Definitely on our list of lunch places when we pass through town.
